Tinubu Revives Long-Awaited South East Road Projects

During a tour in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, former governor of Ebonyi State, disclosed that road projects conceptualized over seventy years ago are now being realized under President Bola Tinubu's administration. These projects are part of Tinubu's Renewed Hope agenda.

The Calabar-Ebonyi-Benue Trans-Saharan Superhighway is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing connectivity in the South East, South South, and North Central regions. The project, which spans 118 kilometers, has a contract sum of N45 billion and is currently 28% complete.

Umahi noted that construction is ongoing even during the rainy season, thanks to the adoption of concrete road technology. The project is expected to catalyze trade and agricultural production in the region.

Additionally, Umahi inspected critical bridge sections, including the Ndi Egb bridge, which is expected to be completed by December 2026. Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State emphasized the state's safety and ongoing infrastructural developments.
