Umahi Advocates for Tinubu's Re-election, Highlights Projects

David Umahi, the Minister of Works, expressed strong support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, emphasizing the importance of Tinubu's legacy projects, particularly the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. This project is designed to connect various regions of Nigeria, stimulate economic growth, and transform transportation.

Umahi provided updates on the highway's progress, noting that it is currently in different phases of execution, with significant portions nearing completion. He highlighted that the project includes advanced engineering designs and aims to accommodate heavy industrial traffic.

Umahi also addressed concerns regarding flooding associated with the highway, stating that technical investigations disproved allegations that the project exacerbated flooding in Lagos. He confirmed that the procurement process for the project complied with public procurement laws and involved open competitive bidding.

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is expected to significantly enhance infrastructure and economic opportunities in the regions it connects.
