Kano Political Campaign Controversy Over Underwear Stunt

A political campaign in Kano State has reached a new low with the emergence of a viral image claiming that the state government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, distributed red underwear to women as part of an empowerment initiative. The image was analyzed and found to be manipulated, raising concerns about its authenticity.

The incident has triggered backlash, particularly from supporters of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who have condemned the act as indecent and a reflection of declining political standards. The controversy escalated with a TikTok video featuring a group displaying the underwear in front of the Kano government house, chanting derogatory phrases aimed at Kwankwaso.

Aiman Ado, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), described the stunt as a retaliatory action against Kwankwaso's supporters. The Kwankwasiyya Movement has rejected the accusations against them, asserting that the incident undermines Kano's political culture and moral values.
