UNICEF Warns of Rising Threats to Children in Nigeria's Northwest Amid Insecurity

UNICEF has raised concerns about the growing risks faced by children in Nigeria's Northwest region as insecurity worsens. The organization is urging the Kano State government and other states in the North West to prioritize child welfare by investing in areas such as vaccination, nutrition, climate resilience, and education.

UNICEF highlighted the importance of ensuring every child receives life-saving vaccines, adequate nutrition, and access to mental health and child protection services. Efforts to combat child poverty, improve healthcare services, and address issues like sexual and gender-based violence are also underway with support from partners like Gavi and the FCDO.
