UNILORIN Graduate Abraham Edem Triumphs Over Adversity

Abraham Edidion Edem, a graduate of Business Administration from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, gained attention on LinkedIn in October 2026 for his inspiring journey overcoming financial difficulties that nearly prevented his education. He faced repeated school rejections during his secondary years due to his family's inability to pay fees, leading to a two-year hiatus from school.

After completing his WAEC, he took four additional years before entering university. In December 2022, while traveling to Ilorin, he experienced a moment of doubt regarding his financial future but chose to continue.

Throughout his studies, he served as Class Governor for three years, became Faculty President in his final year, and held various secretarial roles. He worked as a manager at Livingstone Homes and The Orchards Online Tutoring, and served as a senior analyst in The Investment Society's Management Consulting Division.

Academically, he maintained a top-three CGPA, received two scholarships, and was recognized among the 50 Most Reputable Students in his department. He is also pursuing an Associate Chartered Accountant qualification.
