Zimbabwe Coach Marian Marinica Resigns Ahead of Unity Cup

Marian Marinica has resigned as the head coach of Zimbabwe's senior men's national football team, as confirmed by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA). The resignation, attributed to personal reasons, has thrown the team into uncertainty just before their crucial semi-final match against Nigeria in the Unity Cup.

ZIFA expressed appreciation for Marinica's services and swiftly announced the appointment of former international Kaitano Tembo as the interim head coach. Tembo will assist Takesur Chiragwi in preparing the team for the upcoming fixture, which is scheduled to take place on May 26, 2026, at the Valley Ground in London.

This change in leadership comes at a critical time for the Zimbabwean team as they gear up for a significant encounter against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
