UNN Honors Ndili Foundation for Student Scholarships

The University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) recognized the Ndili Foundation for its scholarship program that awarded 21 students, with plans for a total of 50 scholarships. This initiative, inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Simon Ortuanya on a Friday in Nsukka, aims to support outstanding students and honor the legacy of late academic icon Frank Nwachukwu Ndili.

The scholarships cover tuition, accommodation, and provide a monthly stipend, along with mentorship and leadership development opportunities. Ortuanya described the initiative as a significant boost to the university's academic environment and emphasized that the scholarships are not merely financial assistance but a call for recipients to uphold excellence and strong character.

Amaechi Ndili, chairman of the foundation and a member of the board, urged beneficiaries to treat the scholarship with honor and responsibility, viewing education as a tool for service rather than personal advancement. Anthony Attama highlighted the contributions of late Ndili, Nigeria's first nuclear physicist and the university's seventh vice chancellor, urging scholars to embrace hard work and integrity.
