UPDATE: Ibom Air Passenger, Comfort Emmanson to remain in Prison till October 6th [PHOTOS]

Comfort Emmanson, an Ibom Air passenger accused of assaulting an airline official on a flight from Uyo to Lagos, has been ordered to remain in Kirikiri correctional centre until October 6th by a magistrate court in Ogba, Lagos. The presiding magistrate, Salami, issued the order on Monday after Emmanson was arraigned on charges of assault and wilful damage of property.

According to the charge sheet, Emmanson allegedly shouted, abused, and assaulted a flight crew member, refused to disembark the aircraft upon landing, and also slapped and hit other individuals. Videos of the incident circulating online show a heated confrontation between Emmanson and the flight attendant.

Ibom Air explained that the altercation began when Emmanson refused to switch off her mobile phone, triggering a furious reaction. Emmanson is facing charges under the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria Byelaw 2005 and the Lagos State Criminal Law 2015.
