AON imposes lifetime ‘no-fly’ ban on Ibom-Air passenger over violent in-flight incident

AON has imposed a lifetime 'no-fly' ban on Ms. Comfort Emmanson, a passenger of Ibom Air, following a violent in-flight incident on flight Q9 303 from Uyo to Lagos on August 10, 2025.

The ban was announced by AON spokesperson Professor Obiora Okonkwo, who commended Ibom Air for their swift and professional response to the situation. The incident began when Emmanson refused to comply with safety instructions regarding mobile phone usage and escalated into a physical assault on the crew.

Reports indicate she also attempted to use a fire extinguisher as a weapon. Okonkwo emphasized that such behavior is unacceptable and poses a risk to the safety of crew and passengers.

AON has placed Emmanson on their 'no-fly' list indefinitely, banning her from flying with any AON member airline domestically or internationally. Okonkwo stressed the need for enhanced security measures at airports and reaffirmed AON's commitment to protecting employees,.
