US Blocks Palestinian Officials from UN Meeting in New York

The US blocked Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and 80 officials from attending the UN General Assembly in New York. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio revoked their visas, citing national security interests and the need for the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to repudiate terrorism.

This move follows the Trump administration's visa restrictions on Palestinians, including a program for injured children from Gaza. The US also urged other countries to recognize Palestine as a state unless certain conditions are met by Israel.
