U.S. Outlines Visa Requirements for 2026 World Cup Fans

The U.S. Department of State has released travel and visa requirements for fans planning to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place from June 11 to July 19, featuring 48 teams across North America.

The tournament will culminate in a final match held in New York and New Jersey, with major cities including Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Toronto, Vancouver, Mexico City, and Monterrey hosting events. Fans from Nigeria will not be able to participate as Nigeria, along with the Democratic Republic of Congo, is subject to entry restrictions under Presidential Proclamation 10998, issued in February.

The proclamation limits immigration from certain countries, and despite efforts by the Nigerian government to seek removal from this list, there has been no visible change in status. Fans are advised to complete necessary visa applications, although issuance is not guaranteed.
