Utomi Blames 'Unseen Hands' for Opposition Challenges

Pat Utomi, a prominent political economist and deputy chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed concerns regarding the difficulties faced by opposition parties in Nigeria, attributing these issues to "unseen hands" that he claims are working to sabotage their efforts as the 2027 general elections approach. Utomi made these remarks during an interview on Arise Television's prime-time program on Tuesday.

He highlighted that the current political landscape is marred by attitudes that erode public confidence in politicians. Additionally, Rauf Aregbesola, during the ongoing national convention of the ADC, reflected on the party's performance in recent elections, including the Anambra State governorship election and the Federal Capital Territory area council polls, admitting that the party fell short for several reasons.
