Utomi and Nweke Urge Religious Leaders on Modesty

During a public lecture titled "The Role of the Church in Nation Building" in Port Harcourt, renowned economist Pat Utomi and former minister Frank Nweke Jr. urged religious leaders, particularly Christians, to exemplify modest living and shun luxurious lifestyles. Utomi emphasized the importance of prioritizing positive character in leadership to formulate effective policies for nation-building.

He criticized Nigeria's leadership crisis, attributing the nation's woes to poor leadership quality, and suggested that individuals over 70 years old should not contest for executive offices, particularly the presidency. Nweke called on church leaders to leverage their platforms to promote virtuous living rather than amassing personal wealth at the expense of their congregations.
