Varsity Students Turn To AI For Smarter, Faster Learning

University students in Nigeria are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance their learning experience. Students studying engineering, mass communication, and nursing have reported using AI platforms like ChatGPT to complete assignments, conduct research, and understand complex topics more efficiently.

One student from Nile University praised AI for helping him grasp concepts faster and improve his academic performance. Another student from Veritas University highlighted the convenience of using AI tools to access information quickly and stay on top of tasks and deadlines.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Daimlas Corporation to establish a comprehensive AI ecosystem in Nigerian universities, aiming to empower academic institutions with AI resources for research and education. The Executive Secretary of NUC expressed readiness to embrace this project, emphasizing the potential benefits of AI in improving education quality and resource provision.
