VC Lauds FG for  Halting  Establishment of More Universities

Professor Olayemi Akinwumi of Federal University Lokoja commended the federal government for halting the establishment of new universities in the next seven years. He emphasized the need for the government to focus on funding existing universities, like FUL, to enable them to grow and thrive.

The Minister of Education's decision was praised as the best course of action to ensure that resources are directed towards improving the quality of education in the country. The Vice Chancellor also revealed that 350 personnel have been approved for recruitment at FUL, with a focus on academic staff to enhance teaching and learning.

The recruitment process, which began two years ago, is based on merit, with a commitment to deploying new employees to bolster the university's faculties.
