Veteran Nollywood Actor Fabian Adibe Passes Away

Nollywood veteran actor Fabian Adibe, known for his iconic role in the classic television adaptation of "Things Fall Apart," has passed away at the age of 80 in February 2025. His family confirmed his peaceful death on Wednesday, describing it as a moment of mourning but also a celebration of a well-lived life.

Adibe gained fame for his unforgettable portrayal of Ogbuefi Uzowulu in the 1987 adaptation of Chinua Achebe's novel. He starred alongside industry legends like Pete Edochie, Justus Esiri, and the late Sam Loco Efe.

Admired for his calm presence and commanding performances, Adibe was respected across generations. In addition to his acting career, Adibe also made history in 1965 by leading Nigeria's first Commonwealth Art Festival, solidifying his place as a pioneer in the country's cultural landscape.
