Ikpeba Declares Chukwu Nigeria's Greatest Footballer

Victor Ikpeba, during an appearance on a Monday night football program, named Christian Chukwu as Nigeria's greatest footballer of all time. Chukwu, who captained Nigeria to its first Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in 1980, also played a significant role in Enugu Rangers' triumph in the 1977 African Cup Winners' Cup.

Ikpeba, a former Monaco forward and winner of the 1994 AFCON and 1996 Olympic gold with Nigeria, reflected on the depth of talent across generations in Nigerian football. He also acknowledged Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool forward, as the best African player in Premier League history, placing him above any other African player to have played in England's top flight.

Ikpeba's remarks highlight the significant contributions of both Chukwu and Salah to Nigerian and African football.
