Aisha Yesufu: 2027 Election Not Just About Governors

Aisha Yesufu, a prominent social critic and activist, asserted in an interview with Channels Television that the success of the 2027 presidential election will not be determined by the number of governors a political party has. She highlighted the growing support for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the eagerness of Nigerians to participate in movements that promise change.

Yesufu noted that political strength is not solely reliant on the number of governors, referencing past elections where parties with many governors still faced defeat. She expressed concern over Nigeria's current political climate, citing issues such as insecurity and economic stagnation.

Yesufu emphasized that ADC members are prepared to lead if given the opportunity and assured that they would listen to the concerns of citizens. She also addressed the need for inclusivity in political engagement, stating that the ADC would facilitate registration for those without internet access by allowing physical forms to be filled out at the grassroots level.
