Tinubu Presents Shettima as Vice-Presidential Candidate

On July 10, 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially presented Kashim Shettima with a certificate confirming his nomination as the vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential elections under the All Progressives Congress (APC). The presentation was shared in a video posted by Tinubu's special assistant on social media, Olusegun Dada.

The video depicted Shettima arriving at the venue and exchanging brief words with Tinubu before receiving the certificate. Dada addressed social media speculation regarding Shettima's role, stating that there was no point in doubting the vice-presidential position and that such doubts were created by individuals.

The APC has expressed confidence that the Tinubu-Shettima ticket will secure re-election. The formal receipt of the nomination certificate is a step towards submission to the Independent National Electoral Commission ahead of the election deadline.
