Presidency Explains Challenges in Tracking Terrorists Due to Communication Gaps

The Presidency, through Daniel Bwala, a special adviser to President Bola Tinubu, discussed the complexities of tracking terrorists in Nigeria. Bwala explained the challenges arising from gaps in communication regulations, particularly in monitoring foreign networks used by terrorists.

He highlighted the limitations faced by security agencies in tracking terrorist activities, including the difficulty in tracing users operating within local internet and mobile networks. The issue extends to the use of certain satellite services that fall beyond monitoring capabilities.

Bwala also pointed out the reliance of terrorists on cellular and internet services from neighboring countries like Ukraine and Russia, making it harder to locate and track them within Nigeria.
