Vitel Wireless Launches Non-Expiring Data Service in Nigeria

Vitel Wireless has introduced a lifetime data service in Nigeria, designed to address longstanding consumer concerns regarding data loss and pricing. The service allows subscribers to retain their purchased data without expiration, enabling them to use it at their convenience without the risk of losing unused balance due to time limits.

Engr. Kenneth Emeka Nwabuez, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vitel Wireless, criticized traditional data pricing models for being confusing and restrictive, often requiring usage within limited time windows.

He highlighted that daily data prices across major operators do not reflect the true cost of data, and larger bundle plans often lead to inefficiencies for consumers. As part of its market entry strategy, Vitel Wireless will distribute free eSIMs to prospective users, allowing them to try the service alongside existing mobile lines without needing to switch networks.

The company also plans to introduce specialized data bundles tailored for platforms like WhatsApp, YouTube, and Netflix, which will operate without expiration limits.
