Shettima Leads Nigeria's Delegation at UNGA81 for National Interests

Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in New York, United States, on Monday to represent President Bola Tinubu and lead Nigeria's delegation at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81). Shettima emphasized that Nigeria's engagements at the UNGA81 would be driven by the nation's national interests, aiming for a stronger voice for Nigeria and developing countries in global affairs.

He stated Nigeria's commitment to multilateralism while advocating for reforms to make global institutions more representative and responsive to contemporary realities. Shettima's message highlighted the need for a global system that provides developing countries with a fairer opportunity to prosper.

He was accompanied by several senior government officials, including Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning Doris Uzoka-Anite. The Vice President is expected to deliver Nigeria's national statement during the General Debate and engage in high-level meetings with world leaders and international organizations.
