WACOL Launches Campaign to End Domestic Violence in Abia State

Women Aid Collective (WACOL) intensified its campaign against domestic violence in Abia State by launching a support group to combat violence and harassment against women and girls. The initiative, supported by the Ford Foundation, involved workshops in Umuahia to educate men and boys on preventing violence.

The campaign emphasized challenging societal norms that perpetuate male dominance and control, leading to crises like domestic abuse. Speakers at the event highlighted the need to address issues such as bullying, sexual harassment, and exploitation in homes, schools, and communities.

The campaign aimed to empower women and girls by combating harmful practices and promoting gender equality in Abia State.
