WAEC Releases 2026 CB-WASSCE Results: 32.72% Pass Rate

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announced the results for the 2026 Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE), conducted from January 28 to February 14, 2026. A total of 10,523 candidates registered, marking an 11.49% increase from the 9,438 candidates in 2025.

The examination was held across 166 centers nationwide, with 43 candidates with special needs participating. Of the registered candidates, 5,106 were male (48.72%) and 5,374 were female (51.28%).

The results showed that 4,598 candidates (43.87%) obtained credit passes in at least five subjects, while 3,429 candidates (32.72%) secured credits in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. WAEC noted a performance improvement compared to previous years, with a pass rate of 30.95% in 2024 and 26.96% in 2025.

However, 2,062 candidates (19.68%) had their results processed due to errors. Additionally, 75 candidates (0.72%) had their results withheld due to alleged examination malpractice, with investigations ongoing.
