WAEC Releases 2026 Private CB-WASSCE Results with 32.7% Pass Rate

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announced the results for the 2026 private Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) on March 27, 2026. The examination was conducted from January 28 to February 14, 2026, across 166 centers in Nigeria.

A total of 10,480 candidates sat for the examination, representing an 11.49% increase compared to the 9,438 candidates recorded in 2025. Of these, 3,429 candidates, or 32.72%, obtained the minimum required five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.

This reflects a 5.76% improvement from previous years, with the percentage of candidates achieving at least five credits rising from 26.96% in 2025 and 30.95% in 2024. WAEC disclosed that 75 candidates, representing 0.72% of the total, had their results withheld due to alleged examination malpractice.

The gender breakdown indicated that 5,106 candidates were male (48.72%) and 5,374 were female (51.28%).
