Morocco vs South Africa: WAFCON 2026 Quarter-Final Clash

Morocco and South Africa are set to clash in the quarter-final of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026 on Saturday at 9pm local time (8pm GMT) at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat. The match will determine which team advances to the semi-finals and secures automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

This encounter is a rematch of the 2022 WAFCON final, where South Africa defeated Morocco 2-1, marking South Africa's first continental title. Morocco aims for their second World Cup appearance after debuting in 2023, while South Africa seeks their third appearance following participation in 2019 and 2023.

Morocco reached the quarter-finals after winning two matches and drawing one in Group A, maintaining a strong defensive record. Coach Jorge Vilda has lost only one of his nine WAFCON matches in charge.

Both teams have a history of success in previous quarter-finals, with Morocco winning their last two.
