Edun and Dangiwa Resign from Nigeria's Federal Executive Council

Wale Edun and Musa Dangiwa have resigned from their roles in Nigeria's Federal Executive Council (FEC), as confirmed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Edun, who is an economist and investment banker, submitted his resignation letter due to health reasons on his 70th birthday.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the federal government and highlighted the administration's agenda for a stronger and more resilient Nigeria. Dangiwa, who previously served as the Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank from 2015 to 2022 and was appointed as the Minister of Housing in August 2023, also resigned, thanking the president for the opportunity to serve.

Onanuga noted that Edun paid a valedictory visit to the Presidential Villa, where he discussed his departure with the president. President Tinubu is expected to send new ministerial nominees to the House of Representatives shortly.
