WASSCE Result Portal Up Again as WAEC Sends Fresh Message to Candidates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announced that the candidate access to check and recheck the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) 2025 result portal is back up after a technical issue caused it to crash. The 2025 WASSCE results showed a record low performance, with only 38% of candidates securing at least five credits, including English and Mathematics, necessary for admission to Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Despite this, the pass rate has improved over the years, with 81% passing in 2021 compared to 65% in 2020. WAEC faced criticism similar to the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) for technical glitches affecting candidate results.

Educationist Adesegun Ogungbayi called for a review of the 2025 WASSCE results, citing concerns about technical issues and cybercrime. Additionally, the federal government plans to use privately owned public testing centers to conduct the Senior School Certificate.
