UNIOSUN's Vice-Chancellor Announces 16th Convocation Details

Prof. Odunayo Clement Adebooye, the Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), stated the institution's commitment to quality education and character development during a press conference in Osogbo. The 16th Convocation will focus on academic excellence and societal contributions, with 4,357 students set to graduate.

This includes 3,845 first-degree graduates, nine postgraduate diploma recipients, 400 master's degree graduates, and 103 doctoral degree recipients. Among the first-degree graduates, 88 achieved First-Class Honours.

Notably, the convocation will mark the graduation of the university's first set of medical doctors, with 90 students from the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery programme. These graduates were inducted by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria on August 12, 2026, and will receive their degrees on September 23.

Adebooye also mentioned that several programs, including Cyber Security and International Relations, will have pioneer graduates. Additionally, Victoria Adunola Samson has been appointed as Chancellor following the term of Apostle Folorunso Alaki.
