Adeleke Extends UNIOSUN VC Adebooye's Tenure by Two Years

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke justified the two-year tenure extension for Osun State University Vice-Chancellor Prof Clement Adebooye, effective January 4, 2027. During the 16th UNIOSUN convocation ceremony in Osogbo, represented by Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi, Adeleke highlighted the university's progress under Adebooye's leadership.

He noted that 40 main building projects had been constructed and commissioned in the last four years, including a FIFA-standard Sports Complex and a Science Laboratory Complex. Adeleke emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and industrial harmony, stating that the university had not missed any academic session in five years.

He also mentioned that UNIOSUN is the second state-owned university to fully implement the 2025 FGN-staff union agreement. The governor's decision was supported by an amendment to the Osun State University Law (2006) passed by the state House of Assembly, ensuring the legality and best interests of the university.
