EFCC Assures Ekiti Businesses of Support, Not Intimidation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), through its head of media and public relations, Dele Oyewale, stated that its presence in Ekiti State is intended to foster business growth rather than hinder it. In an exclusive interview, Oyewale emphasized that the EFCC does not engage in harassment or intimidation, asserting that all operations adhere to established standards and procedures.

The commission recently inaugurated a new zonal office in Ado Ekiti, with Vice President Kashim Shettima describing it as a strategic step to enhance the fight against economic and financial crimes in the South West. Oyewale addressed concerns from local business owners, particularly in the hospitality sector, about low patronage linked to the agency's activities.

He reassured that legitimate entrepreneurs should not fear the EFCC, as its mandate is to eliminate financial crime and create a conducive environment for business operations. The EFCC remains committed to enforcing laws within professional boundaries and due process.
