Nigerian Government Collaborates with Social Media Companies to Combat Terrorism

The Nigerian government, through security agencies, is working with social media giants like TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat to monitor and eliminate accounts associated with terrorist groups. Major General Adamu Laka of the Nation Counter Terror Center disclosed this collaboration, highlighting the focus on disrupting terrorist activities, including fundraising and propaganda.

The efforts also target ransom payments, a significant source of terror financing. The security agencies are adapting strategies to counter evolving terrorist methods, emphasizing the need for constant vigilance and proactive measures to combat terrorism effectively.
