Kano Police Arrest 3,081 Suspects in 2025 for Various Crimes

The Kano Police Command, led by CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, disclosed the arrest of 3,081 suspects in 2025 across various divisions and units for crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping, drug dealing, and fraud. The operations also led to the rescue of 14 kidnap victims and the recovery of a substantial amount of weapons, including firearms and dangerous weapons.

The Command implemented strategies to address security challenges like thuggery, phone robbery, and farmer-herder clashes. Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, oversaw the enhanced community policing efforts and joint border patrols.

The success recorded significantly reduced crime rates in Kano State.
