We have not been paid our money - Rasheedat Ajibade

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade expressed frustration in an Instagram live video, stating that the team has not received the money promised by the Federal government of Nigeria. Despite a grand reception at the State House in Abuja following their victory in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco, Ajibade confirmed that neither the team nor the technical staff have been paid.

She highlighted the importance of receiving their entitlements, such as match bonuses, and called for expedited payment. The team, which recently won their 10th WAFCON title, remains hopeful that they will be paid what they are owed in due time.

Nigeria has a successful history in the tournament, winning every final they have contested since 1998.
