Oyo School Kidnappers Demand Government Talks Only

Kidnappers of a school staff member in Oyo State have rejected negotiations with the victim's family, insisting on direct communication with government authorities. Professor Wole Alamu, a lecturer at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, disclosed that his wife, Mr.

Rachael Alamu, was abducted on May 15 during a violent attack on their school in Oriir Local Government Area. The attack reportedly resulted in the death of a teacher and the abduction of several students and staff members.

The kidnappers have maintained contact via WhatsApp, stating they do not wish to negotiate with the family. Professor Alamu received a distress call around 9:20 AM on the day of the incident, prompting him to rush back home.

He acknowledged the Oyo State Government's efforts to respond to the situation and noted that the kidnappers have provided a WhatsApp number to security agencies for investigation. Professor Alamu described his wife as a dedicated educationist committed to developing rural communities.
