Tinubu Promises State Police to Tackle Insecurity

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to establishing state police as part of efforts to address Nigeria's worsening security challenges. This commitment was articulated during a closed-door meeting on Tuesday with a delegation from Plateau State, led by Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

The meeting followed Tinubu's recent visit to the state after the violent attack in Angwan Rukuba. Tinubu emphasized the need to review and implement the white paper on security and acknowledged the difficult issues that need to be addressed.

He highlighted that the creation of state police would play a crucial role in enforcing law and order, thereby helping to tackle the nation's security concerns. Tinubu noted the importance of peace in preventing the growing number of widows and orphans resulting from violence and pledged to work with the legislature to move towards the establishment of state police.
