Ex-CDS Attributes Nigeria's Insecurity to Weak Borders and Prosperity

Former Chief of Defence Staff, Admir Ola Ibrahim, emphasized the impact of weak borders and prosperity on Nigeria's security challenges during his address at the 42nd Regular Course reunion of the Nigerian Defence Academy in Abuja. Ibrahim noted that Nigeria's economic potential attracts external threats, while internal divisions further compound the security situation.

He served as the 14th Chief of Defence Staff from 2012 to 2014. Ibrahim warned against the prediction of Nigeria's disintegration, urging unity and strong bonds among senior military officers.

He commended the creation of new military divisions in the North West and North East to address security challenges. The reunion highlighted the enduring bonds formed during training and emphasized the importance of unity and support beyond individual ranks.
