Wellington College International to Open First African School in Lagos by 2027

Wellington College International has announced its intention to establish its first African school in Lagos, with a scheduled opening in September 2027. The school, a joint venture with Rendeavour, will provide a British education to 1,500 students aged three to 18, following the English National Curriculum.

The purpose-built campus will include facilities for academic, sports, music, art, and pastoral care, emphasizing innovation in areas like artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship. The school's management, led by Paresh Thakrar, highlighted the institution's commitment to delivering transformative 21st-century education.

Wellington College International Lagos will set a new benchmark in education, drawing on the global network of Wellington schools. The campus will feature extensive facilities, including a 50-meter Olympic-size swimming pool, a performing arts theater, medical center, STEM laboratories, and various sports amenities.

This initiative signifies a long-term educational legacy in Nigeria, aiming to empower students for a rapidly evolving world.
