Wema Bank to Host 2026 International Women’s Day Event

Wema Bank PLC has unveiled plans for its 2026 International Women’s Day (IWD) Grand Event, set to take place on March 4, 2026. This initiative is part of the bank's ongoing commitment to advancing gender inclusivity in Nigeria.

Known as one of Nigeria's oldest indigenous financial institutions and a pioneer of Africa's first fully digital bank, Wema Bank's celebration will align with the global IWD 2026 theme, "When Women Gain, Growth Happens." The event will highlight the impact of supporting women across personal and professional spheres, reinforcing the idea that empowering women drives collective growth in society. Moruf Oseni, Wema Bank's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the institution's dedication to gender equality and the importance of providing tailored opportunities for women.

The event will feature accomplished women from various industries and emerging voices, fostering networking, mentorship, and access to new opportunities. Additionally, Wema Bank will present awards recognizing male employees who champion women's advancement and will launch a journal featuring insights from 80 contributors focused on the girl child.
