Wema Bank to Host 2026 International Women’s Day Event

Wema Bank, Nigeria's oldest indigenous financial institution, has announced plans to host the 2026 International Women’s Day (IWD) grand event on March 4, 2026. The event will align with the global IWD theme "Give Gain," focusing on the sub-theme "When Women Gain, We Grow." Moruf Oseni, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Wema Bank, emphasized the institution's commitment to advancing women's inclusion and empowerment, which has been a priority since the launch of the bank's women-focused proposition, Sara, in 2019.

The event aims to spotlight the importance of supporting women and will convene women from diverse industries alongside emerging female leaders. It will feature the Sara Give Empower Award, recognizing women who significantly impact their communities, and the Wema Knight initiative, which involves outreach activities benefiting women across Nigeria.

Additionally, the event will launch the Wema Bank Girl Child Journal, compiling insights from 80 contributors across various fields, reinforcing the message that when women gain, society grows.
