ADC Demands Clarity on President Tinubu's Absence

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has called on the Presidency to clarify President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s prolonged absence from Nigeria. Tinubu left for a three-week working vacation on August 30, initially traveling to London and then Paris.

On September 21, the Presidency announced an extension of his vacation, stating he would return at the weekend. However, as of September 27, the ADC PCC expressed concern over the lack of updates regarding his whereabouts and the reasons for the extension.

Kola Ologbondiyan, the Director of Media and Publicity for the ADC, emphasized that the Presidency owes Nigerians a transparent explanation, asserting that the office of the President is a public trust. The ADC also raised questions about who is exercising presidential authority in Tinubu's absence, especially since Vice-President Kashim Shettima was in New York representing Tinubu at the 81st United Nations General Assembly.

The ADC demanded immediate clarification on the President's location and the constitutional arrangements in place during his absence.
