New Waterfront Development at Jabi Lake Set for 2026

Akida Hills is set to develop a significant leisure and tourism destination on a 3.36-hectare site within the 14-hectare Jabi Lake waterfront district in Abuja. The project, which will be delivered in phases, has Phase 1 scheduled to open in December 2026.

A key feature of this phase will be West Africa's first dancing musical fountain, which will include choreographed water displays, synchronized lighting, and music, aimed at transforming the waterfront experience after sunset. Unlike typical waterfront developments that use water as a backdrop, this project focuses on creating an immersive environment where visitors can engage with Jabi Lake through walkways, viewing decks, and recreational water-based activities.

The design emphasizes accessibility and aims to create a vibrant atmosphere with a mix of dining, leisure, and entertainment options appealing to families, professionals, tourists, and residents throughout the day and into the evening.
