INEC Clarifies Reasons for Not Charging Anambra Vote-Buying Suspects

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) explained at a stakeholder forum in Abuja why suspects involved in vote-buying during the recent Anambra State governorship election have not been charged. INEC stated that they lack the statutory mandate and capacity to arrest suspects, as security agencies have not submitted investigation reports.

INEC also highlighted challenges in achieving real-time transmission of election results due to poor telecommunication networks, especially in remote areas.
