WIPM Urges FG to Combat High-Level Oil Theft in Niger Delta

The Warri Indigenous Peoples Movement (WIPM) in Nigeria has urged the Federal Government to address high-level crude oil theft in the Niger Delta, emphasizing fair treatment for the Itsekiri people. The group disowned a recent protest at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) headquarters and called for the removal of the Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr Bayo Ojulari.

WIPM highlighted the need to tackle the powerful cartel behind oil theft at sea rather than focusing on smaller players. They also urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to expand investigations into refinery maintenance to uncover individuals involved in oil theft operations.
