Raheem Okoya Announces Retirement from Music Professionally

Raheem Okoya, a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and son of businessman Rasaq Okoya, announced on Wednesday via Instagram that he will stop releasing music professionally. He cited the growing difficulty of balancing his music career with other responsibilities as the reason for his decision.

Raheem began his music journey casually as a hobby but transitioned to a professional career, gaining opportunities to perform at major events and receiving recognition from admired artists. Over the past year, he found it increasingly challenging to maintain his music career alongside other commitments, stating he could no longer dedicate the necessary time, patience, and effort to his craft.

He expressed gratitude to his fans and colleagues, indicating that while the "Siraheem music" era is closing, he remains open to new creative challenges in other fields. Raheem started releasing music professionally around 2022, with notable songs including "Bad Bitch Syndrome," "Kowope," "SOWETO," and "TRU$T FUND." His debut project, "By The Order Of The City," was released on May 1, 2026.
