Anyim Pius Anyim Explains Lack of Support for Obi

Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, the former Senate President and ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation, clarified his reasons for not endorsing Peter Obi for the presidency in 2023. During an interview with Arise News, Anyim stated that although he respects Obi and considers him a friend, they belong to different political parties and camps, which prevented him from offering his endorsement.

He expressed his belief that most political leaders in the South-East support the All Progressives Congress (APC) and asserted that their followers would likely do the same. Anyim urged the South-East to build political alliances with other regions to realize its long-term goal of producing Nigeria's president, emphasizing that cooperation is essential for political success.

He noted that achieving this ambition requires aligning with another region rather than acting independently.
