Bukky Wright Returns to Nollywood After Raising Kids Abroad

Bukky Wright, a veteran Nollywood actress, explained her departure from the Nigerian movie industry during an appearance on The Morayo Show. At 59 years old, she prioritized raising her children, who were living abroad, over her acting career.

Wright relocated to support her children during their formative years, stating, “I left the country many years ago because of my children, and I would do it over and over again if I had to.” She expressed no regrets about her decision, emphasizing the importance of maternal presence. After years away, she returned to the screen in January 2025 with a role in "Something About the Briggs." Additionally, she revived her 2008 film "Omotara Johnson" following numerous requests from fans.

Wright kept her return private until filming was completed, believing that keeping her plans close to her heart allowed for better outcomes. She affirmed her commitment to her acting career, stating, “It’s the return of Omotara Johnson and the return of Bukky Wright, and I’m here to stay.”.
