Peter Obi Meets Oyo Governor for Political Consultations

On Tuesday, Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, met with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde at the Oyo State Secretariat in Ibadan. The two-hour meeting was part of broader consultations among opposition figures aimed at gathering momentum for future political alignments.

Obi's visit occurred just 72 hours after a high-level opposition political party summit in Ibadan, which brought together prominent political actors from across the country. During the meeting, Obi highlighted the importance of discussing issues beyond mere political maneuvering, focusing instead on building a central vision for Nigeria's future.

He emphasized the need for inclusivity and equal opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their background. Additionally, Obi called for significant economic reforms, particularly advocating for a shift from a consumption-driven economy to a product-based economy in Nigeria.
