Aisha Yesufu Transitions from Activism to Politics

Aisha Yesufu, a prominent human rights activist, declared her intention to enter politics while continuing her advocacy work. During an appearance on a television channel, she confirmed her decision to leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and align with the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) as part of her political participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Yesufu emphasized that her move into partisan politics does not signify an end to her activism; rather, she intends to integrate her advocacy within political structures. She stated, "I’m not leaving advocacy, I’m taking advocacy into politics," highlighting the importance of recognizing activists in political discussions.
