Analyst Predicts Peter Obi May Leave ADC Before 2027 Election Over Presidential Ticket Loss

Public affairs analyst Jide Ojo has hinted that former Vice President Peter Obi may consider leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before the 2027 election if he fails to secure the party's presidential ticket. Ojo mentioned during an interview that if Obi loses the ticket, particularly to someone like Atiku, the former Anambra State governor might opt to abandon the ADC platform to pursue his presidential ambitions elsewhere.

Ojo also suggested that Atiku may not be interested in the ADC ticket and could be looking to lead a different front. Despite this, Ojo acknowledged that Obi commands respect and a significant followership within the party.

Obi has previously declared his intention to contest in the 2027 presidential election but stated he is not willing to play second fiddle to anyone.
